On 7 December 2021, an important meeting between representatives of the Royal House of Georgia and their senior Serbian hosts took place at the Palace of Serbia in New Belgrade.
The Palace of Serbia is a representative government building constructed between 1947 and 1959. Formerly known as the Palace of the Federal Executive Council, or SIV 1, it is currently used by the Government of Serbia and houses several ministries and government agencies.
His Royal Highness Crown Prince Davit Bagrationi Mukhranbatoni, Head of the Royal House of Georgia, was accompanied by Aleksandar O. Đurđev, a member of the Assembly of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina and Rector of the Order of the Eagle of Georgia and the Seamless Tunic of Our Lord Jesus Christ in Serbia, and the Reverend Deacon Hadži Nenad M. Jovanović, Secretary of the Centre for the Study of Orthodox Monarchism and Chaplain of the Georgian Royal Orders in Serbia.
The delegation was received by His Excellency Milan Krkobabić, Minister for Rural Welfare in the Government of Serbia.
The Minister was joined by Goran Milenković, Assistant Minister in the Ministry of Rural Welfare; Stefan Krkobabić, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia; and Dragan M. Marković, Member of the National Assembly.
The meeting was held in the Montenegrin Salon of the Palace of Serbia. During the informative and constructive discussions, the participants reached several conclusions and considered possible agreements intended to support further cooperation in cultural exchange, diplomatic relations, transportation, and matters within the competence of the Ministry for Rural Welfare.
At the conclusion of the meeting, His Royal Highness visited the representative Yugoslavia Hall within the Palace of Serbia.
The visit continued with additional activities intended to promote cultural exchange and cooperation between the Georgian and Serbian peoples. The participants emphasised the importance of mutual support between smaller nations in preserving their national identities and advancing their shared interests.
